Membership and league welcome emails

Each membership and league has a Welcome Email that new members and players receive when they join. It arrives as a message in their Birrdi app and as an email.

Writing a welcome email

  1. Open the membership or league.

  2. Write in the Welcome Email box, or click Generate with AI to draft it from the plan's settings.

  3. Click Save.

A welcome email is required for both memberships and leagues. Saving without one shows "Please enter a welcome email before saving."

What to include:

  • Memberships: how to book, how their credits work, and anything they should know before their first visit.

  • Leagues: the schedule, rules, how to take part, and anything they should know before their first session.

You can format it with bold, italic, underline, links, headings and quotes. There are no merge fields like a member's first name, so every member gets the same text.

Sent if Welcome Email is set to Yes - send welcome email (the default)

When adding members, choose No - do not send welcome email to skip it. When a welcome email is sent, "Welcome email sent" is recorded in the member's history.

What the member receives

  • A new conversation in their Birrdi messages containing the welcome email. It also shows in your Messages tab and on the customer's profile Messages tab.

  • An email from [email protected] with the subject "{Your business name} sent you a message", your welcome text, and a View Message button.

The subject can't be customized. If the member has no email on file or has unsubscribed from your emails, they still get the in-app message.

Tips

  • Keep it short and clear. The AI drafts aim for about 80 to 150 words for memberships and 150 to 250 for leagues.

  • Say customers book "on our website".

  • Re-read AI drafts before saving, especially details like credits and prices.
