If your Remote Lock shows as Offline in Birrdi, this does not always mean there is a problem with your lock or integration.
Hardwired / Commercial Doors
If you are using a hardwired commercial access control system, the Offline status in Birrdi can generally be ignored.
The online/offline status is primarily useful for residential-style Wi-Fi locks, where the physical lock maintains a direct network connection.
Commercial doors and hardwired access control systems may not report their connection status to Birrdi in the same way, even though PIN codes and door access are working correctly.
Because of this, you should not reconnect your Remote Lock integration simply because Birrdi displays the device as Offline.
How to Confirm Your Remote Lock Is Working
The best way to test the integration is with an actual reservation.
Create a test reservation for yourself.
Wait for the reservation's Remote Lock PIN code. Depending on your settings, this is typically sent 5–10 minutes before the reservation begins.
Go to the door and enter the PIN code.
If the PIN successfully unlocks the door, your Remote Lock integration is working properly — even if Birrdi displays the lock as Offline.
What If the PIN Does Not Work?
If you receive a PIN but it does not unlock the door, check your Audit Logs in Birrdi.
Go to:
Home → Audit Logs
Look for the Remote Lock activity associated with the reservation. The Audit Logs can help identify whether there was an issue generating or sending the PIN code.
If the PIN is being generated successfully in Birrdi but is not working at the door, the issue may be with the lock, access controller, or configuration within Remote Lock.
The Main Thing to Remember
For hardwired commercial doors, the Offline indicator by itself is not a reliable indication that something is wrong.
The most reliable test is whether a PIN generated from a Birrdi reservation successfully works at the door.
