How to Set Up Variable, Peak, and Off-Peak Rates in Birrdi

Birrdi allows you to charge different prices throughout the day while still showing customers one simple rate option.

For example, the customer can see only:

while the price automatically changes based on the day and time they reserve.

This is done by creating multiple Birrdi rates with the exact same name, with each rate covering a specific time range and linking to its own Square item.

Variable pricing in Birrdi is built using multiple separate rates.

For example, you may have four different rates on Monday:

Even though these are four separate rates in Birrdi, they are all named:

Public

Because the rate names match, the customer sees a single Public option.

Birrdi then determines which Public rate applies based on the reservation's day and time.

This is an important part of setting up variable rates.

Every individual Birrdi rate must have its own corresponding Square item.

Do not use one Square item for multiple variable rate blocks.

For example, if you have four Public rates during the day, you should also have four Square items:

The Square item names are primarily for your own organization. They help distinguish each individual pricing block.

The Birrdi rate names should still all be exactly Public if you want the customer to see one rate.

Suppose Monday has four pricing periods:

Before creating the variable rates in Birrdi, create the corresponding items in your Square account.

If your Birrdi booking interval is 30 minutes, each Square item should represent the price for 30 minutes.

Every Birrdi rate you create should have its own Square item to link to.
