How Variable Rates Work
To create a variable rate, each rate must use the exact same name — including capitalization and spelling.
Birrdi uses the rate name to determine that these prices belong to the same pricing group.
Example
Let’s say you want to charge “Public” pricing at different times:
Time Range | Rate Name | Price |
8:00 AM – 2:59 PM | Public | $50 |
3:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Public | $65 |
Because both rates use the same exact name — Public — Birrdi treats them as one rate that varies by time.
Common Error:
“The Public rate is only available for 1 hour and 30 minutes or less.”
This happens when there is a gap or overlap in your variable rate time blocks.
Birrdi requires that your time ranges touch exactly with no missing times.
Fixing This
Make sure your rate times are continuous:
✅ Correct (times line up perfectly)
8:00 AM – 2:59 PM
3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
❌ Incorrect (gap between 2:59 PM and 3:05 PM)
8:00 AM – 2:59 PM
3:05 PM – 9:00 PM
If your day has even a 1-minute gap, the system will think that the rate is not available for the full reservation length and show that error.
Tips for Success
Copy and paste the rate name to ensure it matches exactly.
Always check your start and end times — they must connect with no breaks.
