Here are answers to some common questions about using Events in Birrdi.
Does creating an Event block my simulator bays?
No. Events and Custom Events are separate features.
Events manage ticket sales, payments, and registrations.
Custom Events block your simulator bays on the reservation calendar.
If you're hosting a ticketed tournament or clinic that requires dedicated simulator time, you'll need to use both.
Can I charge members and the public different ticket prices?
Yes. You can configure different ticket rates for members and the general public.
Birrdi can recognize eligible members and apply the appropriate rate.
Can I run a free event?
Yes. You can offer tickets at $0.
Depending on your payment settings, you can also choose whether customers must provide a card when registering for a free event.
Can I increase the number of available tickets later?
No. Total Tickets / Spots cannot be changed once an event has been created.
Choose your ticket limit carefully when setting up your event.
Can I turn off an event without deleting it?
Yes. Open the event's Settings and turn Active off.
This prevents new registrations while keeping the event in your account.
Can customers cancel their own registrations?
Yes, if you've enabled Customer Cancellations in the event's Cancellation Policy settings.
Can I issue refunds?
Yes, refund options are available for events using Pre Payment On.
Open the customer's booking and select Refund, if available.
Why can't customers use promo codes, gift cards, or loyalty points?
These are supported when your event uses Pre Payment On.
They are not available with Pre Payment Off or Store Card Pay Later.
Can I move a participant to another event date?
Yes, for Grouped Events.
Open the customer's booking and click Move to select another date in the same group with enough available spots.
Individual Event bookings cannot be moved this way.
Can I send announcements to registered participants?
Yes. Open your event's bookings, select the customers, and click Send Announcement.
You can also send email notifications.
Why can't I edit certain event settings?
Some settings are locked after an event has been created, including Event Type, Total Tickets / Spots, Timezone, and Days of the Week.
Other changes, such as saving event settings, require an Admin role.
Why am I seeing "Access Denied"?
Certain event actions, including saving settings, archiving, and deleting, require Admin access.
If you don't have permission, ask an administrator on your team for assistance.
How do I archive an old event?
Open Events.
Find the event you want to archive.
Click the trash icon.
Confirm the archive.
The event moves to your Archived list, where you can still view its booking history.
If you need to permanently delete an event, switch to Archived and use the delete option.
Important: Permanent deletion cannot be undone.
Why are event dates shown in red?
Red dates generally indicate that an event has passed or that an individual date in a Grouped Event is turned off.
Why is a customer's name shown in red?
A red customer name on the bookings page indicates that payment is still owed.
Open the booking to review its payment status.
Does Birrdi track tournament scores or leaderboards?
Events manages registrations, tickets, payments, and attendance.
Competition scoring and leaderboards need to be managed separately using your simulator, launch monitor, or competition software.
