Understanding Booking Restrictions for Rates

Birrdi allows you to control how far in advance customers can make reservations and how close to a reservation's start time they can book.

These settings are configured individually for each rate, giving you flexibility over when customers can make reservations.

How to Configure Booking Restrictions

  1. Open your Birrdi Admin Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Simulators (or Golf Courses for outdoor facilities).

  3. Select the rate you want to configure.

  4. Locate the How Far in Advance Can Customers Book? and How Soon Can Customers Book? fields.

  5. Adjust the settings and save your changes.

How Far in Advance Can Customers Book?

This setting controls how far into the future customers can make a reservation using this rate.

For example:

  • 7 Days: Customers can book reservations up to 7 days in advance.

  • 14 Days: Customers can book reservations up to 14 days in advance.

  • 28 Days: Customers can book reservations up to 28 days in advance.

  • Unlimited (Book Anytime in Advance): Customers can book as far into the future as your available schedule allows.

Example: If today is October 1 and you set this field to 14 days, customers can book reservations through October 15, but not beyond that date.

This setting is especially useful if you want to offer members earlier booking access than the general public.

How Soon Can Customers Book?

This setting controls how much advance notice customers must provide before a reservation starts.

For example:

  • At least 5 minutes before start time: Customers must book at least 5 minutes before the reservation begins.

  • At least 1 hour before start time: Customers cannot book a reservation starting in less than 1 hour.

  • At least 3 hours before start time: Customers must book at least 3 hours before the reservation begins.

  • At least 24 hours before start time: Customers must book at least 24 hours before the reservation begins.

Example: If it's currently 12:00 PM and this field is set to 3 hours, the earliest reservation a customer can book is 3:00 PM.

This setting is helpful for facilities that require advance notice to prepare for customers or want to prevent last-minute reservations.

How These Settings Work Together

Both settings apply to the same rate and determine the window during which customers can make reservations.

Example configuration:

  • How Far in Advance Can Customers Book? 14 days

  • How Soon Can Customers Book? At least 3 hours before start time

With these settings, customers can book reservations starting at least 3 hours from now, but no more than 14 days into the future.

Why Use Booking Restrictions?

These settings help you:

  • Control advance booking access: Allow members to reserve further ahead than public customers by configuring different rates.

  • Prevent last-minute reservations: Require customers to book with enough notice for your facility.

  • Manage availability: Define how early and how late customers can reserve time.

  • Customize booking rules: Apply different restrictions to different rates based on your facility's needs.

Note: These restrictions apply to customers booking through your online reservation system. Administrators can still create reservations directly through the Birrdi Admin Dashboard.
