Understanding Operating Hours vs Rate Hours

Operating Hours

  • Global facility/simulator availability

  • Applies to everyone

  • If closed, nobody can book

  • Think of this as "When is the facility open?"

Rate Hours

  • Restricts specific rates

  • Public vs Member access

  • Peak vs Off-Peak rates

  • Lesson rates

  • Special access windows

Example 1: Members Get Extended Access

  • Operating Hours: 6 AM–11 PM

  • Public Rate: 9 AM–5 PM

  • Member Rate: 6 AM–11 PM

Example 2: Public Only During Staffed Hours

  • Operating Hours: 24 Hours

  • Public Rate: 9 AM–9 PM

  • Member Rate: 24 Hours

Common Mistake

"I changed my Operating Hours but my members still can't book."

Usually this means the Rate itself has more restrictive hours configured.

Rule of Thumb

Operating Hours determine when the simulator is open. Rate Hours determine which bookings are allowed during those hours.

"I want members to have different hours than the public."

That's usually not an Operating Hours problem at all—it's a Rate configuration problem.
