Pack Settings Explained

Pack Settings Explained

This article explains every setting you'll see when creating or editing a Pack.

Packs are one-time purchases that provide customers with prepaid credits. They do not auto-renew. When customers run out of credits, they simply purchase additional credits on their existing Pack.

What Is a Pack?

A Pack is a prepaid bundle of credits (for example, a 5 Lesson Pack or 10 Hour Pack).

Customers purchase the Pack once, then redeem credits until their balance reaches zero. When they need more credits, they simply add more credits to the same Pack.

Key Differences from Memberships

  • One-time purchase

  • No recurring billing

  • No automatic renewals

  • Customers can purchase additional credits at any time

Name

What it is: The internal and customer-facing name of your Pack.

Best Practices

Use a clear, descriptive name so customers immediately understand what they're purchasing.

Examples:

  • 5 Lesson Pack

  • 10 Lesson Pack

  • 10 Hour Pack

  • Practice Pack

This name appears during checkout and inside the customer's Birrdi account.

Description

What it is: Describes what the Pack includes.

Best Practices

Clearly explain:

  • How many credits are included

  • What the credits can be used for

  • Any restrictions

Example:

Receive 10 hours for the price of 8. Valid during Public Play hours.

Currency

What it is: The currency used for pricing and billing.

Important

  • Must match your Square account.

  • Cannot be changed once purchases have been made.

Allow Public Sign Ups

What it is: Determines whether customers can purchase this Pack themselves.

Options

Yes

Customers can purchase the Pack online.

No

The Pack is available for staff use only.

Important

If Allow Public Sign Ups is enabled and the Pack is attached to a Rate or Lesson, customers will see a Buy Credits button during checkout.

If the Pack is not attached to any Rate or Lesson, customers will not see a Buy Credits button, even if Public Sign Ups are enabled.

If you later disable Public Sign Ups, customers who already own the Pack will not be able to purchase additional credits themselves. Staff can still add credits if needed.

Accept Gift Cards

What it is: Allows customers to use a Square Gift Card to purchase the Pack.

Gift Cards apply only to the initial purchase.

Since Packs are one-time purchases, there are no recurring charges.

Price

What it is: The one-time purchase price of the Pack.

Always link this to the corresponding Square Item.

Example

Pay $100 and receive $120 worth of credits.

Customers are charged once when purchasing the Pack.

Slashed Price

What it is: Displays a comparison price for marketing purposes.

Example

$600 → $510

The slashed price is informational only.

Customers are charged the actual Pack price.

Credit Plan / Hour Restrictions

What it is: Selects the Credit Plan that determines:

  • How many credits customers receive

  • Daily credit limits

  • Credit increments

  • Expiration or rollover behavior

  • Any additional credit restrictions

Every Pack must be linked to a Credit Plan.

Auto Apply Credits

What it is: Determines whether credits are automatically selected during checkout.

Yes (Default)

After a customer selects an eligible Rate, Birrdi automatically applies the appropriate credits.

Customers can still:

  • Remove the credits

  • Reduce the number of credits used

  • Choose to pay without using credits

No

Customers manually choose whether—and how many—credits they want to redeem during checkout.

Limit Active Reservations

What it is: Limits how many future reservations a customer can hold using this Pack.

This helps:

  • Prevent customers from booking too far in advance

  • Ensure fair availability for everyone

Terms & Conditions Name

What it is: The title shown for your Pack Terms & Conditions.

Example

Pack Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions Link

What it is: A URL linking to your complete Terms & Conditions.

Best Practice

Include information such as:

  • Expiration policies

  • Refund policy

  • Usage restrictions

  • Transferability

Enrollment Dates

What it is: Controls when customers can purchase the Pack.

Useful for:

  • Seasonal promotions

  • Limited-time offers

  • Special events

How Credits Work

Once a customer selects a Rate, Birrdi determines whether the selected Rate accepts the customer's Pack and associated Credit Plan.

If the reservation is eligible:

  • Credits are automatically applied when Auto Apply Credits is enabled.

  • Customers can still review, adjust, or remove the applied credits before completing checkout.

  • If Auto Apply Credits is disabled, customers manually choose how many credits to redeem.

Credits can only be redeemed on Rates that:

  • Accept the Pack

  • Have Allow Credits enabled

  • Meet all Credit Plan restrictions

When a customer's credit balance reaches zero, they simply purchase additional credits on the same Pack.

They do not receive a new Pack.

Final Notes

  • Packs never auto-renew.

  • There are no recurring charges.

  • Customers are charged once per credit purchase.

  • Customers keep the same Pack for life and simply add more credits whenever needed.

  • Always test your Pack before enabling Public Sign Ups.
