Want to turn occasional customers into recurring members?
With Birrdi Triggers, you can automatically send membership promotions to public customers after their reservations end.
This gives you an opportunity to introduce your memberships to customers who have already experienced your facility, without manually following up after every visit.
Why Promote Memberships After a Reservation?
Customers who have already visited your facility are familiar with your business and may be more interested in joining a membership.
An automated follow-up can help you:
Introduce membership benefits to existing customers.
Encourage customers to reserve more frequently.
Promote member-only pricing and other benefits.
Generate additional recurring membership revenue.
Reduce the time spent manually promoting memberships.
Step 1: Make Sure Your Memberships Are Ready
Before creating your automation, make sure you've already configured your membership plans in Birrdi.
Navigate to Plans → Memberships and review your offerings.
Consider highlighting benefits such as:
Discounted simulator reservations.
Monthly included credits or hours.
Member-only rates.
Special pricing during eligible hours.
Additional membership benefits offered by your facility.
Tip: Make sure any benefits you advertise match your actual membership settings.
You'll also want to have a link to your membership signup page ready to include in the message.
Step 2: Create a Thank You Trigger
Open your Birrdi Admin dashboard.
Navigate to Menu → Triggers.
Click Add Trigger.
Enter a Trigger Title, such as Public Customer Membership Promotion.
Select your facility under Target Facilities.
Under Target Customers, select Public Only.
Under Trigger Type, select Thank You Message.
Why Select Public Only?
Selecting Public Only ensures that the promotion targets customers who do not currently have a membership.
This prevents existing members from unnecessarily receiving an email encouraging them to purchase a membership they already have.
Birrdi checks the customer's membership status when the trigger sends, so the audience reflects their status at that time.
Step 3: Choose When the Message Sends
Under Time After End, select when the message should be delivered.
We recommend 24 hours after the reservation ends.
This gives customers time to enjoy their experience before receiving a follow-up introducing your membership options.
Step 4: Write Your Membership Promotion
Under Message, write the marketing email customers will receive.
Here's an example:
Enjoyed Your Visit? Save More With a Membership!
Thanks for visiting us! We hope you had a great time.
Did you know we offer memberships designed for golfers who want to practice and play more often?
Depending on the membership you choose, you can enjoy benefits such as:
Special member-only simulator pricing.
Included monthly playing credits.
More opportunities to practice and improve your game.
If you plan on visiting regularly, a membership could be a great way to save.

We look forward to seeing you again soon!
You can customize the message yourself or click Generate with AI to create a draft.
Step 5: Enable Email Delivery
Under Email Delivery, enable Send an email notification.
Eligible customers will receive your membership promotion by email, and everyone who matches the trigger will receive the message in their Birrdi Messages tab.
Customers can view their messages at app.birrdi.com/u/messages.
Step 6: Configure Auto Close
For promotional messages, we recommend enabling Auto close this message if you don't need customers to reply.
When enabled:
The message is sent automatically.
Customers can read the promotion but cannot reply in that conversation.
The conversation immediately moves to Closed.
Your Messages inbox stays organized.
If you want customers to ask questions about memberships, leave Auto Close off.
Step 7: Save and Activate
Click Save.
Your trigger will now automatically target qualifying public customers after their reservations.
You don't need to manually select customers or send promotional emails after each visit.
Important: Customers May Receive This Promotion More Than Once
A Thank You Trigger runs after every qualifying reservation, not just a customer's first visit.
This means a public customer who makes multiple reservations can receive the same membership promotion after each one.
If you'd prefer to send a membership promotion only once, consider using a Milestone Message instead.
For example:
Create a new trigger.
Choose Milestone Message.
Select 2nd Reservation as the milestone.
Set Target Customers to Public Only.
Write your membership promotion.
Save the trigger.
This sends your promotion when the customer reaches their second completed reservation, instead of after every visit.
Our recommendation: Use a second-reservation milestone if you want a more targeted, one-time membership upsell without repeatedly promoting the same offer.
Turn Existing Customers Into Recurring Members
Your existing public customers already know what your facility offers.
By using Birrdi Triggers, you can automatically introduce memberships at the right point in their customer journey, helping encourage repeat visits and grow recurring revenue.
