Changing Time Intervals in Birrdi

Updated over a week ago

Birrdi supports three booking interval options:

15 minutes
30 minutes (recommended)
60 minutes

For most facilities, 30-minute intervals provide the best balance between flexibility and simplicity. This is the setup we recommend for the majority of operators.

If you need to change your interval for any reason, the Birrdi Customer Success team will handle the change for you, please reach out to them and submit a request for your business.

Because intervals are tied directly to pricing, there are a few important steps you must complete after the change is made.

Why Interval Changes Require Updates

Your rates in Square and Birrdi are directly tied to the booking interval.

For example:

If your interval is 30 minutes, your rates in both Square and Birrdi represent 30 minutes of simulator time.

If you change your interval to 60 minutes, your rates must reflect 60 minutes of time instead.

That means the pricing needs to be updated in both Square and Birrdi.

Step 1 — Update Your Square Items

After the interval change is complete, you must update the prices of your items in Square.

Example:

Current Interval

Current Price

New Interval

New Price

30 minutes

$30

60 minutes

$60

If you are moving from 30 minutes → 60 minutes, you will typically multiply your prices by 2.

Update every Square item that is used for simulator bookings.

Step 2 — Reconnect the Square Items in Birrdi

Once the Square prices are updated, you must reconnect those items inside Birrdi.

This step is required because Square does not automatically sync price changes back to Birrdi.

To update your rates:

  1. Click the Simulator tab in the top menu bar

  2. Click into your Simulator

  3. On the left sidebar, click Rates

  4. Open each rate by clicking the pencil icon

  5. Reconnect the Square item

  6. Click Save

You must repeat this process for every rate.

Why This Process Is Required

Unfortunately, Square does not push item price updates back to Birrdi automatically.

Because of this limitation, each rate must be reconnected and saved again so Birrdi can store the updated price information.

Important

Changing intervals affects every booking price in your system, so it is important to carefully review all rates after the change.

If you are unsure about any step in this process, reach out to Birrdi Customer Success and we will help guide you through it.

We want to make sure everything is set up correctly so your bookings continue running smoothly.
