Events: What They Are and How to Use Them

This article explains what Events are in Birrdi, what they’re designed for, and when you should (and shouldn’t) use them.

Updated over a month ago

What Are Events?

Events are a separate product in Birrdi that are completely independent from your simulator bays and standard reservations.

They are designed specifically to help facility owners run in-person events at their location without needing third-party ticketing tools.

Events are intentionally simple and focused.

What Events Are Used For

Events allow you to:

  • Take pre-payment for an event

  • Track attendees / ticket holders

  • Check in attendees when they arrive

  • Offer different pricing for members vs the public

  • Share a booking URL for signups

Common examples include:

  • Leagues

  • Tournaments

  • Clinics

  • Demo days

  • Member nights

  • Corporate or private events

Events Are Not Simulator Reservations

It’s important to understand that events:

  • Are not tied to simulator bays

  • Do not block bay time directly

  • Do not function like hourly reservations

Events exist solely to manage people, payments, and attendance, not bay scheduling.

Booking & Payments

Each event automatically comes with a unique booking URL.

You can:

  • Share the URL on your website

  • Send it in emails or texts

  • Post it on social media

Customers can use the link to:

  • Pay in advance

  • Secure their spot

No third-party event software is required.

Member vs Public Pricing

Events support multiple pricing options, allowing you to:

  • Offer discounted rates to members

  • Charge standard pricing for non-members

  • Control access and availability

This makes events especially useful for member-exclusive or member-preferred experiences.

Recurring Events

Birrdi supports recurring events.

For example:

  • Every Saturday at noon

  • Weekly leagues

  • Monthly clinics

You configure the event once, and Birrdi automatically:

  • Creates the individual event dates

  • Accepts signups and pre-payments

  • Tracks attendees per date

Keep It Simple

Events are intentionally not over-engineered.

Many operators don’t regularly use their space for events — but when you do need to run one, Birrdi gives you a simple, built-in option without having to:

  • Create Square website products

  • Use external ticketing platforms

  • Manually track attendees

Events are there when you need them.

Final Thoughts

Events exist so you can easily:

  • Monetize your space beyond standard reservations

  • Run in-person experiences

  • Manage signups and payments in one place

If events aren’t part of your day-to-day operations, that’s okay — but when you need to pull that lever, Birrdi has you covered. If you have questions about whether events are right for your use case, contact support.
