Facebook Ads Integration (DIY Setup)

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Birrdi’s Facebook (Meta) Ads integration is currently a DIY setup. It can work, but it is not simple, not automated, and not forgiving if steps are missed.

We want to be very clear about expectations before you begin.

Important expectations up front

  • The Facebook Ads integration is manual and complex

  • Birrdi does not currently offer paid setup or hands-on support for Facebook Ads

  • We provide guides you can follow, but they must be followed exactly

  • The setup is brittle — small misconfigurations can cause tracking to partially or fully fail

  • Facebook’s reporting (ROAS, attribution, conversions) is not always reliable, even when conversions are happening

What “DIY” means for Facebook Ads

If you choose to run Facebook Ads with Birrdi, you (or your marketing partner) are responsible for:

  • Connecting your Facebook Business Manager and Ad Account

  • Installing and configuring the Meta Pixel

  • Verifying events are firing correctly

  • Understanding Facebook’s attribution windows and reporting delays

  • Monitoring changes Facebook makes to their ad and tracking systems

This is not a one-click integration.

Why Facebook Ads tracking can be confusing

Even when everything is set up correctly:

  • Conversions may happen, but ROAS may not update

  • Events may fire but appear delayed or partially attributed

  • Facebook may change UI, defaults, or attribution logic without notice

  • There is no direct technical support line from Facebook we can rely on

This makes troubleshooting difficult for both you and us.

Our recommended approach

If you decide to proceed:

  1. Follow our Facebook Ads guide step-by-step, in order

  2. Do not skip or modify steps

  3. Double-check all IDs, domains, and event names

  4. Use Facebook’s tools (Pixel Helper, Events Manager) to verify setup

  5. If you work with an agency, share our guide and ask them to follow it exactly

Common reasons Facebook Ads tracking breaks

Most issues come from:

  • Pixel installed incorrectly or multiple times

  • Domain verification not completed properly

  • Events not mapped or prioritized correctly

  • Attribution settings changing after setup

  • Facebook UI updates that invalidate older setups

What Birrdi can and can’t do

We can:

  • Provide official Birrdi setup guides

  • Confirm whether Birrdi is emitting the expected events (when applicable)

We can’t:

  • Configure your Facebook Ads account for you

  • Debug Facebook’s reporting, attribution, or ROAS calculations

  • Provide ongoing ad performance or tracking support

Bottom line

The Facebook Ads integration is currently a best-effort, DIY solution. It requires careful setup, patience, and exact execution. We know this is not ideal, and we’re actively evaluating better, more scalable options for the future.

For now, the most reliable path is to carefully follow our guide step-by-step (or have a marketing partner do so) and validate each step before moving on.
