Using Open Custom Events for Holiday Pricing (Simulators)

How to set up one-time holiday pricing with Open Custom Events

Open Custom Events are a powerful way to override your regular simulator rates for specific holidays throughout the year. Instead of adjusting your everyday pricing (which we recommend keeping consistent), you can create a one-time “Open” custom event with its own pricing that applies only on that date.

⚠️ Important: Open custom events fully replace your normal rates on the date you select. Please set them up carefully. If you’re unsure, reach out to support for help before going live.

When to Use Open Custom Events

  • Holidays like Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or 4th of July

  • Any one-off day where you want special rates that override your standard pricing

  • Situations where you need complete flexibility without affecting your regular setup

Steps to Create an Open Custom Event

  1. In the top menu bar, click Simulators. Select the simulator you want to update.

2. From the left sidebar, click Custom Event

Click Add Custom Event.

Fill out the event details (e.g., Christmas Day Event).

Set the date (example: 12/25).

Choose Single (not repeating).

Set the type to Open.

Enter the time range to cover the entire day:

  • Start Time: 12:00 AM

  • End Time: 11:59 PM

Click Save.

Now click Add Rates.

Enter your new holiday pricing from scratch:

  • Add Public Pricing

  • Add Member Pricing (if applicable)

  • These rates are only for this event and will not affect your normal rates.


Critical Setup Reminder

When adding your rates, make sure the time ranges in your pricing match exactly with the custom event times (12:00 AM – 11:59 PM in this example). If they don’t match, customers may see errors at checkout.


✅ That’s it! Your simulator will now use the holiday pricing for the date you set, and automatically return to normal rates the following day.
